I’m sorry that I even have to put a message like this out there, but recently I have received SEVERAL concerns and complaints involving animal rescues and organizations.
If you have a legitimate concern regarding the care, treatment, condition, adoption practices, or operation of an animal shelter or rescue, please understand that there are official channels available to report those concerns.
I have also been advised that concerns which may involve possible criminal activity or immediate animal welfare issues should be reported to the appropriate local law enforcement agency.
THE ECSPCA IS NOT TAKING NEW CASES CURRENTLY AND ARE ASKED PPL TO CONTACT THEIR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT.

New York State also provides an official Pet Dealer and Shelter/Rescue Complaint Form through the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets:
PLEASE HELP US KEEP ALL ANIMALS SAFE.
If something does not seem right, document your concerns and report them through the proper channels. Please do not make accusations on social media when a matter can be properly documented and investigated by the appropriate authorities.
And please be careful when donating, adopting, fostering, or sending money to anyone claiming to operate a rescue. Ask questions. Verify the organization. Request veterinary documentation when appropriate. A legitimate rescue should be concerned about the health, safety, and proper placement of the animals in its care.
Animals that are ill or receiving treatment require appropriate veterinary care and proper disclosure of their medical condition. If you have concerns about an animal’s health or believe an organization is violating New York State requirements, report the concern rather than ignoring it.
This isn’t about attacking legitimate rescues. There are MANY incredible rescues doing everything possible with limited resources every single day.
This is about protecting the animals. ❤️🐾They cannot speak for themselves, so sometimes we have to be their voice.
Please stay vigilant, please don’t allow yourself to be scammed, and most importantly, please help us keep ALL of our animals safe.
