Since our last rescue post from Lockport, we have honestly been overwhelmed with calls and messages asking for help. I am incredibly thankful that people trust us enough to reach out, but I do need everyone to understand that I CANNOT take in any cats at this time.
Right now, I also have a medical issue going on with one of my own cats that I need to focus as much attention on as possible. We are trying to protect his eyesight, and the little guy JUST turned one over the weekend. 💔 So, for the moment, I really need to concentrate on him while still helping where I can.
Now, with that being said…
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THESE CATS IN TREES?! 😂🌳🐈
Did somebody send out a memo that there’s a new rescue team in town?
Yesterday, Tristian went out completely on his own because the call happened to be right in his neighborhood and rescued another cat from a tree.
Then today, another call came in about a kitten that had reportedly been stuck in a tree since Monday in Cheektowaga.
I wasn’t able to drive today, otherwise you already know I would have been there. But that wasn’t going to stop the rescue.
Tristian actually caught an Uber to get there, and my Dog Whisperer Jake Jablonski met up with our Cat Whisperer Tristian, and together they made the magic happen. 🐕🐈⬛😂
The kitten was safely brought down, and here’s the best part…
❤️ The person who originally called us for help is adopting the kitten!
Now THAT is how you finish a rescue.
I am extremely proud of both of these guys.
People sometimes only see the final picture of an animal safely on the ground. What they don’t always see is the climbing, equipment, driving, coordination, time, risk, gas, phone calls and everything else that happens behind the scenes.
And through all of it, we do this completely FREE OF CHARGE.
We have built an AMAZING circle of friends who make up this little rescue team. Some are out front, some work behind the scenes, and some would rather never have their name mentioned at all.
But every single one of them matters.
None of us could do this without supporting one another.
At the end of the day, there are no egos, no competition and no need for a spotlight.
Saving a life is what it’s all about. Bottom line. ❤️🐾
Thank you again to everyone who continues to trust Tristian, Jake and myself enough to give us a chance to help.
And apparently…
🌳 we’ll see you at the next tree. 😂
Thank you all!
Shawn, Tristian & Jake 🐾,
Erie County Blotter
