JAMESTOWN, N.Y. 🚔 – A Chautauqua County Grand Jury has returned a secret indictment charging Robert BD Brinkley, 27, of Jamestown, in connection with the May 3, 2026 homicide of Jamestown resident Torry Kenny.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, the indictment was unsealed in Chautauqua County Court on July 27, 2026. Investigators allege that Kenny was stabbed during an incident in the area of East 8th Street and Lakeview Avenue on May 3. Kenny later died from the injuries he sustained.

Brinkley has been charged with:

Murder in the Second Degree

Manslaughter in the First Degree

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree

County Court Judge David Foley ordered Brinkley held on $1 million cash bail or a $2 million property bond. He is scheduled to appear again in Chautauqua County Court on August 17 for further proceedings.

As with all criminal cases, the charges contained in the indictment are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
