Attention Firefighters Planning to Attend Services for Jay Mazurkiewicz.

We anticipate a significant turnout for both the wake and funeral services for Jay. To help ensure everything runs smoothly and respectfully, please review the following information and share it with your members.

Wake:

Friday, July 31, 2026

Time: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location:
Lombardo Funeral Home
3060 Abbott Road
Orchard Park, NY

Arrival Instructions:

All fire department apparatus and personnel should report first to:

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church
3148 Abbott Road
Orchard Park, NY

From there, departments will be released in an organized manner to the funeral home. This staging process is intended to prevent overcrowding at the funeral home parking lot and to allow everyone the opportunity to pay their respects in an orderly fashion.

After your department has visited the funeral home, you will be released to return to service.

All communications and operations will be conducted on the Erie County Fire Countywide Frequency.

Funeral Service:

Saturday, August 1, 2026

Schedule:

  • 7:45 AM – Departments begin arriving at West Seneca East High School.
  • 8:15 AM – All apparatus should be in position.
  • 9:00 AM – Funeral Mass begins.

Church Location:
Queen of Heaven Church
4220 Seneca Street
West Seneca, NY

Arrival Instructions:

All fire departments should report to:

West Seneca East High School
4760 Seneca Street
West Seneca, NY

From there, departments will be directed to stage apparatus along the right (north) shoulder of Seneca Street beginning at Mill Road.

The family procession will depart the funeral home, travel to the East Seneca Fire Company, and then proceed past the staged apparatus and firefighters. After the family has passed, firefighters may walk to the church.

Please note that seating inside the church will be limited. Priority seating will be reserved for Jay’s family, friends, civilians, and members of his fire department. Once the church reaches capacity, we respectfully ask that remaining firefighters remain outside the church.

There will be no procession to the cemetery following the service.

*All communications and operations will be conducted on the Erie County Fire Countywide Frequency.

We ask that all departments arrive early enough to be staged and in position by 8:15 AM.
