It is with great sadness that the members of the West Seneca Police Department mourn the passing of longtime public safety dispatcher, firefighter, instructor, and friend, Jay Mazurkiewicz.

Jay dedicated his life to serving others. Whether behind the radio, in the fire service, or teaching future first responders, he was known for his professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care for the people around him.

Many who knew Jay will remember him for the genuine way he looked after the people in his life, always taking the time to check in on friends and colleagues.

His contributions to the emergency services community and the lives he touched will not be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jay’s wife, children, family, friends, and coworkers.

Rest in peace, Jay. Thank you for your years of dedicated service to our community.
