A New Step Forward in Our Fight Against Opioid Overdose Deaths!

I am incredibly proud and excited to announce that, thanks to the support of the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH), we are bringing a FREE, publicly accessible Narcan distribution box to Alden, NY!

Many of you know me through my animal rescue efforts and the work I do with Erie County Blotter. But something else very close to my heart is opioid outreach, overdose prevention, and helping individuals who are struggling with addiction.

I have been given an incredible opportunity to bring another lifesaving resource into our community, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

💜 Introducing the Purple Lifesaver!

This box will provide FREE access to Narcan (naloxone), a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose and potentially save someone’s life.

Our goal is to establish Alden’s first free, publicly accessible Narcan distribution box, making this lifesaving medication available to those who may need it most.

Erie County Blotter will proudly help stock and maintain this box with support from the Erie County Department of Health.

And we’re not stopping in Alden!

🚨 THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!

My hope is to continue expanding this effort throughout Erie County, placing additional Purple Lifesaver boxes in communities where access to overdose prevention resources can make a difference.

Whether you live in a small rural community or a busy neighborhood, access to Narcan should never be a barrier to saving someone’s life.

Addiction does not discriminate. Overdoses can happen anywhere. And every single life is worth saving.
