BUFFALO, NY — Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of a person of interest being sought in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in the City of Buffalo.
According to information released by Crime Stoppers WNY, the crash occurred at approximately 4:24 a.m. on September 27, 2026, at the intersection of Broadway and Oak Street.
Investigators say a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas struck another vehicle that was stopped at a red light. The collision resulted in the death of the driver of the stopped vehicle.
Following the crash, the driver of the Volkswagen reportedly fled the scene on foot.
The individual was last seen traveling west on Broadway before heading north on Ellicott Street in downtown Buffalo.
Person of Interest Sought
Police are attempting to identify the individual pictured in surveillance images released by Crime Stoppers WNY.
Investigators believe the person may have been in the East Aurora area during the night of September 26 and in the Chippewa area during the early morning hours of September 27, prior to the fatal crash.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information that could assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers WNY.
