CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The following is a selected summary of notable activity contained in the Cheektowaga Police Department’s daily patrol logs for the week of September 14 through September 20.

Routine traffic stops, false alarms, routine medical calls and other lower-priority activity have been condensed. Sensitive mental-health and self-harm calls are not included, and exact residential street numbers have been withheld.

Monday, September 14: Police investigated the theft of a 2024 Alfa Romeo from Fontaine Drive. The vehicle had reportedly been taken without the keys, and electronic tracking initially placed it in the Buffalo area. Officers searched several locations but did not locate it during the initial investigation. 14Sep26.pdf The day also included a DWI arrest on Genesee Street, a narcotics arrest, a juvenile shoplifting arrest at Walden Galleria, an arrest involving possession of stolen property and narcotics, and a second DWI arrest later that night.

Tuesday, September 15: Officers responded to a reported fight involving four adults on Gualbert Avenue. Police were advised the parties had been pushing and shoving, and one person sustained a small laceration. The incident ultimately resulted in an arrest.  A separate traffic-related stop on Dick Road resulted in another arrest, with the patrol log also noting a Penal Law Article 220 drug offense. 15Sep26.pdf Police also located a U-Haul vehicle that had been reported stolen by Buffalo Police near the mall; two occupants were detained and arrested. Later in the evening, a bicyclist suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run on Clinton Street, and additional narcotics arrests were recorded.

Wednesday, September 16: Patrol activity included an arrest following a false-personation investigation, a vehicle break-in on William Street in which property was reported stolen, and a narcotics investigation on Rossler Avenue that resulted in two arrests. Officers also made an arrest during an incident involving resisting or obstructing police. The department recorded several warrant-related matters and assisted other agencies during the day.

Thursday, September 17: It was a particularly active day for impaired-driving enforcement. The logs document multiple DWI-related arrests, including incidents connected with motor-vehicle crashes as well as a late-night DWI stop on Walden Avenue that resulted in a driver being taken into custody after a positive preliminary breath test. Police also handled several warrant arrests during the morning and arrested a suspect following a reported theft of tools and merchandise from a Thruway Plaza business.

Friday, September 18: An early-morning DWI investigation on Gruner Road resulted in a driver being taken into custody, the vehicle being towed and an arrest being filed.  Another impaired-driving-related arrest followed an injury crash, while separate narcotics investigations produced additional arrests. A juvenile shoplifting case and an incident in which a subject was taken into custody for resisting were also among the day’s calls.

Saturday, September 19: Officers responded to a menacing complaint on Randolph Avenue involving reports of a knife and additional allegations involving a firearm; one man was detained and arrested. A separate weapon-related call on Broadway involving a reported knife also ended in an arrest. Police later recovered a vehicle listed as unlawfully taken at Walden Galleria and made an arrest. Several retail-theft investigations at the mall and along Walden Avenue resulted in additional arrests, including two suspects accused of concealing cosmetics and another case involving the alleged use of a victim’s credit card.

Sunday, September 20: Officers handled an early-morning DWI investigation near Thruway Mall in which a driver was taken into custody, alcohol was noted and the vehicle was towed. A separate disturbance on Park Edge Drive involved a report that a man forced his way into a residence and fought with officers; police filed a warrant application along with vehicle and obstruction-related paperwork. Several additional arrests followed traffic and shoplifting investigations throughout the day. Police also investigated an evening weapon complaint near Harlem Road after callers reported people displaying firearms in the park area.
