**ERIE COUNTY, N.Y.** — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office handled **2,217 complaints** during the September 12–18 reporting period, including **393 premises checks, 41 neighborhood patrols, 256 traffic stops, 239 assists to other agencies, and 13 warrants served.**

Below are incidents highlighted in this week’s official blotter.

### 🚨 Serious Incidents & Arrests

**Concord/Springville — Injury Accident:** On September 13, a vehicle crashed into a ditch on Brown Hill Road. **Two occupants suffered significant injuries.** One was flown by **Mercy Flight to ECMC**, while the second was transported by Mercy EMS.

**Colden — Narcotics / Warrant:** Deputies stopped a vehicle on Boston Colden Road after observing an equipment violation. During the investigation, deputies reported finding suspected fentanyl in a passenger’s possession. The subject initially provided a false name before later giving his correct identification. Deputies then discovered an outstanding Cheektowaga bench warrant. The 33-year-old Buffalo man was charged with **7th-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and 2nd-degree Criminal Impersonation.**

**Elma — DWI:** Deputies responded to Bullis Road on September 12 for a vehicle stopped in the roadway with the operator reportedly asleep behind the wheel. Fire personnel assisted deputies in gaining access to the vehicle. Following the investigation, a 20-year-old Lackawanna man was charged with **DWI and 3rd-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.**

**Collins/Gowanda — Criminal Mischief:** A 40-year-old Gowanda man initially reported that he had been stabbed at a Buffalo Street business. The Sheriff’s Office said its investigation determined the injuries occurred when the man punched a window. He was charged with **3rd-degree Criminal Mischief and 3rd-degree Falsely Reporting an Incident.**

**Clarence — Larceny Investigation:** Following an investigation into incidents at Ulta Beauty, a 20-year-old Buffalo woman, described as a former employee, was charged with **three counts of 1st-degree Falsifying Business Records and Petit Larceny.**

### 🚓 Additional Calls Around Erie County

**Alden:** Deputies investigated a September 15 hit-and-run complaint on Exchange Street. Investigators identified a possible suspect and observed damage to both vehicles. An accident report was completed.

**Boston:** Deputies checked on a man reportedly passed out inside a vehicle at a Boston State Road business. He told deputies he was watching a movie on his phone and was sent on his way. In a separate case, three people reportedly provided insufficient payment after taking eggs from a roadside stand on Lower East Hill Road. The complainant was ultimately reimbursed.

**Clarence:** Other incidents included a stolen smoker, a reckless-driving complaint, a motorist who reportedly fell asleep before striking a mailbox, an attempted vehicle theft, a shoplifting arrest, a hit-and-run investigation, a disabled electric vehicle and a school bus that was rear-ended. **No students were aboard the bus and no injuries were reported.**

**Concord/Springville:** Deputies also handled a neighborhood complaint involving someone mowing a lawn at 9 p.m., a suspended-license arrest, a roadway disturbance, a DWI investigation, an attempted theft of two e-bikes, a dog-bite follow-up, a narcotics arrest, a purse stolen from a vehicle and a neighbor dispute resulting in an **Obstructing Governmental Administration** charge.

**Elma:** Deputies investigated a reported confrontation involving an Amazon driver, a suspicious vehicle near NYSEG property and a three-vehicle injury crash at Bullis and Pound roads.

**Grand Island:** Incidents included a DWI arrest, a dispute over a parking space and a reported hit-and-run in a Tops parking lot.

**Holland:** A resident reported seeing people inside her gate through a Ring camera notification. Deputies determined the person was a **National Fuel employee checking the meter.**

**Marilla:** Deputies handled a neighbor dispute, a property-damage crash and a complaint involving burnout marks left in a church parking lot.

**Newstead/Akron:** Newstead Fire responded to Stage Road after a caller reported an unattended fire in the woods. Firefighters extinguished **two small brush fires.**

**North Collins:** Deputies investigated a two-vehicle crash near Jennings Road and School Street in which one operator complained of neck and back pain.

**Sardinia:** Deputies provided traffic control while a tow operator removed a disabled vehicle near Creek and Pratham roads.

**Wales:** A deputy located a loose dog on Hunters Creek Road, secured the animal in the patrol vehicle, located its residence and **returned the dog safely home.** Deputies also handled an Amazon delivery vehicle that backed into a ditch on Merlau Road.

**Seneca Nation of Indians:** The Sheriff’s Office reported routine calls for service during the reporting period.
