CHEEKTOWAGA, NY | SEPTEMBER 1, 2026
Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of Jachai Turner, 29, of Buffalo, following an investigation conducted by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Cheektowaga Police Department.
Just prior to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, deputies executed an Erie County Court-authorized search warrant at a residence on Crescent Court in Cheektowaga and on a black 2019 Chevrolet Equinox.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies located and seized quantities of suspected:
- Cocaine
- Fentanyl
- Methamphetamine
- Psilocybin
- Drug paraphernalia
Turner was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Turner has been charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree — 3 counts
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree — 3 counts
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree — 2 counts
He was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
Sheriff Garcia said the Narcotics and Intelligence Unit remains focused on removing illegal narcotics intended for sale from Erie County neighborhoods, describing the issue as both a quality-of-life and public safety concern.
