🍂 ANOTHER MONTH DOWN — AND OVER 4 MILLION VIEWS! 🐾💚

Another month is officially in the books!

This Months Most Viewed Story’s

First, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who stuck with Erie County Blotter while I dealt with the Facebook downtime and access issues this month. Because of that, things were definitely slower than normal for us, but thankfully everything worked itself out in the end.

And even with the slowdown…

📊 We still had JUST OVER 4 MILLION VIEWS this month!

That absolutely blows me away. Thank you to everyone who reads, shares, comments, sends information, supports the rescues, and continues to help Erie County Blotter grow.

But now that October is here, there’s something else we really need to start thinking about.

🥶 THE COLD WEATHER IS COMING, AND OUR COMMUNITY/COLONY CATS NEED US.

Every year, once the temperatures begin dropping, we start preparing shelters and supplies for the outdoor cats that simply cannot be brought indoors.

Right now I’m asking everyone to please KEEP AN EYE OUT for:

🐾 Foam coolers/insulated containers
🐾 New or gently used plastic totes with lids
🐾 STRAW for outdoor cat shelters
🐾 Dry cat food
🐾 Dry kitten food
🐾 Dog food for our outreach handouts
🐾 Collars, leashes and other pet supplies

Please remember: STRAW is what we want for outdoor shelters, not blankets, towels or clothing. Fabric can absorb moisture, freeze and actually make an outdoor shelter colder. Straw allows the cats to burrow while helping them stay dry and insulated.

🏠 If you’re making a shelter, keeping it small, dry, protected from wind and raised slightly off the ground can make a huge difference.

🚨 WE ALSO NEED TO HEAVILY RESTOCK FOOD

Our food supply gets hit especially hard once colder weather arrives. More food is needed for community cats, rescue situations and the families we assist who may be struggling to keep their pets fed.

My Amazon Wishlist continues to be my MAIN source of donated food and rescue supplies. If you would like to help, purchasing directly from the Wishlist is one of the easiest and most helpful ways to support what I do.

⚠️ IMPORTANT FOOD NOTE:

During the cold-weather months, I DO NOT put wet cat food outside. Wet food freezes quickly and can become unusable.

If you’re sending wet food from the Wishlist, please make it WET KITTEN FOOD only. Any kittens we locate will always be brought INDOORS and given the opportunity to eventually find their FOREVER HOME. ❤️

For the outdoor colonies, DRY FOOD is our biggest food need.

Every bag of food matters.
Every tote can become shelter.
Every bundle of straw can help keep a cat warm.
Every item you send allows me to stretch our supplies just a little further.

And as always, when I respond to help an animal, there is NEVER a fee.

Your donations are what help make that possible.

From the emergency calls, animal rescues and transports to food handouts and helping our community cats survive another Western New York winter, I truly could not continue doing all of this without the people who support me.

4 MILLION+ views in a slower month is incredible. Now let’s turn some of those views into full food bins and warm shelters for the animals who are going to need us this winter. 🐾❤️

Thank you, everyone. Truly.
