JAMESTOWN, NY — A 45-year-old man was taken back into custody early Monday morning after Jamestown Police say he pulled a fire alarm inside the police department’s reception area shortly after being released from jail.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers with Third Platoon observed Randall S. Crocker, 45, enter the JPD reception area at approximately 12:24 a.m. on September 15, 2026, and pull the fire alarm.

Police said Crocker had been released from the city jail approximately 30 minutes earlier due to New York State bail reform.

Officers determined there was no emergency occurring in or around the area. Crocker was taken into custody without incident and returned to the city jail.

CHARGE:

• Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Second Degree

According to JPD, Crocker was subsequently released on an appearance ticket due to New York State bail reform.
