
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Two Jamestown residents are facing child endangerment charges after police conducting a welfare check reportedly discovered two children living in what investigators described as deplorable conditions.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the First Platoon responded to a Northside residence at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to check on the well-being of several children. During the investigation, officers found two children living inside the home under deplorable conditions.
As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Mariangel Velazquez Rosario and 26-year-old Fernando Mojica Reyes, both of Jamestown, were taken into custody without incident.
Both individuals have each been charged with:
- Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
They were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and were being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As with all criminal charges, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
