Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of three individuals following the execution of a search warrant at 207 Mineral Springs Road in Buffalo on June 9.
Acting on an anonymous tip, the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit and the Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit opened an investigation for suspicious activity at the residence. On June 9, Deputies stopped 23-year-old Mohammed Alkulifi of Buffalo for vehicle equipment violations and operating a vehicle with a suspended learner’s permit. A search of the vehicle discovered approximately eight pounds of marijuana and approximately $25,000.00 in U.S. currency.
The Sheriff’s Office then executed a search warrant signed by Judge Kenneth Case at the Mineral Springs address. The search resulted in the recovery of additional marijuana, a loaded handgun, two loaded shotguns, and a loaded rifle. Deputies also recovered an additional $15,000.00.
Also arrested following the investigation and search of the residence were 21-year-old Kristaly Rivera of Buffalo and 23-year-old Yaseen Aljamali of Buffalo.
Alkulifi is charged with a felony count of criminal possession of cannabis – more than five pounds, a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and New York State vehicle and traffic law violations.
Rivera is charged with felony counts of possession of a weapon – loaded firearm and criminal possession of a weapon – 3rd degree.
Aljamali is charged with felony counts of possession of a weapon – loaded firearm and criminal possession of a weapon – 3rd degree.
Alkulifi was issued appearance tickets and released. Rivera and Aljamali were taken to the Erie County Holding Center and released following their arraignment on June 10.
