NYSP Investigating A Fatal Train Collision.

On May 3, 2021 at 12:00 P.M., Troopers out of SP Fredonia responded to a train collision with a vehicle on Temple Road in the town of Dunkirk between Route 5 and Willow Road. Further investigation revealed that the Ford Ranger was in the path of an oncoming CSX railroad engine with three tankers. The operator of the Ford and only occupant, William D. Miller, 63 of Dunkirk, NY was pronounced deceased at the scene.


NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted in this investigation.


This is still an ongoing investigation.
