NFPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting and Armed Robbery.

On May 4th at approximately 11:43 P.M., Niagara Falls Police responded to the area of Portage Rd. and Cedar Ave. for a report of a man down. Upon arrival officers located an adult male that appeared to have a gunshot wound to his chest. The male was transported to Niagara Falls Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is not being released until his family has been contacted.


At 1:12 A.M. on May 5th, Niagara Falls Police were called to the area of 1309 Main St. for a report of an armed robbery. The victim stated that he was robbed by two suspects who were armed with a gun. The victim sustained a laceration to his head when he was struck with the gun. The vict


im was treated and released from NFMMC.


Six minutes later at 1:18 A.M., Niagara Falls Police responded to 442 Elmwood Ave. for a report of a man who was shot in the face. The victim told officers that he was standing outside when he was approached by two suspects who asked him for a “light.” Without any further comment one of the suspects began firing a gun at the victim, striking him once in the head. The victim was transported to ECMC where he was treated for the non-life threatening injury.


At approximately 3:17 A.M., two victims reported that someone threatened them with a gun in the area of Main St. and Pine Ave.

imately 3:55 A.M., NFPD Officer General attempted to interview a male in the area of Main and Park Place. During that encounter, the male was found to be armed with a gun. That male was taken into custody.

Niagara Falls Police Criminal Investigation Division Detectives are continuing their investigation into these incidents.


During the search for the shooters, the NFPD Emergency Response Team was activated to supplement the patrol division, as well as Officer Booth and his K9 Flash. Niagara County Sheriff’s Office K9, NYS Parks Police and NYS Police also assisted during these incidents.
