Lancaster Police Dept Police Blotter from 09/27/21 Through 10/02/21.

Patrol responded to the area of Transit Rd and William St for a report of a pedestrian struck. On arrival, patrol spoke with loss prevention from a nearby store who advised that the person struck, was a female suspected of shoplifting. The female was being followed by loss prevention, ran out of the store with loss prevention chasing. The female ran across William St and ran into a vehicle. She then ran into another nearby store. Patrol located the female inside the stores restroom and she appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Located in the female’s purse was three glass smoking pipes with suspected drug residue. The female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, issued an appearance ticket then transported to the hospital for evaluation. She was not charged for the suspected shoplifting incident.


Patrols were dispatched to a Freeman Rd motel for a report of a stolen vehicle on location. Dispatch advised that they were contacted by Niagara Falls PD, stating they tracked a vehicle via gps that was stolen from their jurisdiction the day before. The vehicle was located and per Niagara Falls PD, the vehicle was towed from the scene. Patrol checked with the motel clerk but was unable to determine who drove the vehicle to the motel.


Lancaster dispatch handled 63 requests for emergency medical services.


An Officer responded to a Transit Rd department store to take a report of a shoplifting that took place the previous day. Store loss prevention recognized the Subject from previous incidents at the store. The Subject is seen on video taking two bed in a bags ($269.98) and one comforter ($134.99) and exiting the store without paying for the merchandise. Loss prevention provided video of the shoplifting and the case was referred to Detectives.


Patrol responded to a Transit Rd retail store for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Shortly after Patrol was dispatched, it was reported that three Subjects fled the scene in a black dodge pickup truck. Patrols checked the area and the vehicle was gone prior to arrival. Loss prevention reported the Subject, two females and one male, filled a shopping cart with merchandise totaling $2103.21 and passed the last point of sale without paying for same. The Complainant approached one female to ask for her receipt when she stated her husband had the receipt. The complainant asked the male for the receipt and he stated his wife had the receipt. The three subjects refused to stop for the Complainant and then entered a black dodge 1500 crew cab pickup truck and left the scene southbound on Transit Rd. The complainant was unable to obtain further descriptions for the subjects because they were wearing face coverings. Loss prevention provided video of the incident and the case has been referred to Detectives.


Officers completed traffic details on Aurora St (3), Broadway, Como Park Blvd, Enchanted Forest North (4), Genesee St (6), Maple Dr, Pleasant View Dr (2), Stony Rd (2), Transit Rd, Walden Ave (2) and William St.


An Officer observed a vehicle traveling west bound on Walden Avenue. A DMV check was conducted which showed the vehicle to be suspended in New York for insurance not in effect. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, who was also the registered owner, was found to have a suspended NYS driver’s license. The driver was issued UTTs and released. The vehicle license plates were confiscated and the vehicle was towed from the scene.


Patrol responded to a Transit Rd apartment complex for a report of two females harassing another female. The two females left the area in separate vehicles prior to Patrols arrival. The Complainant was the property manager and stated she approached the females after observing them walking around the parking lot. The females stated they were looking for someone and when advised by the Complainant that the party they were looking for wasn’t on the premises, they became confrontational with the Complainant. A male that was in the area doing landscaping approached the females and they got into their vehicles to leave. One of the females drove in reverse away from the Complainant but then stopped and accelerated quickly back towards the Complainant, stopping a couple from her. The Complainant did believe that the Subject was going to strike her with the vehicle. A warrant was filed for the female that drove the vehicle at the Complainant for Harassment in the second degree.
