Jamestown Resident Charged With Multiple Crimes Following High Speed Chase.
On December 4th, 2018, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Collin Slack, 22, of Jamestown, for Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1stDegree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rdDegree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
Slack was pulled over on I-86 westbound in Poland for driving 87 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone, but drove away as the trooper approached the vehicle. A pursuit was initiated and the suspect vehicle had accelerated in excess of 100miles per hour. Additional State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff units assisted with the vehicle pursuit.
In the vicinity of Exit 7, a Trooper successfully deployed a tire deflation device rendering the suspect vehicle disabled. Slack then fled the scene and was taken into custody by the Troopers and deputies after a foot chase. Investigation revealed that Slack had just stolen the vehicle he was driving from LUV Toyota in Lakewood and was in possession of two stolen dealer plates and a stolen key fab. Slack was transported to SP Jamestown, processed, and then transported to the Lakewood Busti Police Department to be processed for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree. Slack was then arraigned in the town of Busti Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
