Grand Island Man Arrest For Harassment/Hate Crime.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces Deputies arrested 33-year-old Timothy Knight, Jr. of Grand Island for threatening an African American victim over several weeks.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint by a Grand Island man who was receiving threatening communications from the defendant. The communications elevated to physical threats with racial overtones and epithets.

After an investigation and consultation with the District Attorney’s office, Knight was arrested on April 12. The defendant is charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree hate crime/aggravated harassment.

Knight was processed and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
