Erie County Sheriff's Office Patrol Logs for the Town of Elma. From 12/30 Through 1/5.

Town of Elma:


12/30: Assist Person W Maple Ct Complainant reported possible abuse to a resident by a staff member. No injury was reported. OPWWD was notified and SASI is conducting its investigation. Police report completed.


12/30: Property Found Transit Rd Complainant found a magazine from a weapon in a rental vehicle. Patrol attempted to contact the last couple of renters for the

vehicle. The Gun magazine was secured at Chestnut Ridge for safekeeping. Property receipt issued to the complainant.


12/30: Motorist Broke Down Rte 400 @ Transit Rd Deputies responded to a vehicle on the shoulder of the road. The operator was waiting for a part to fix the vehicle on the

roadside. All set


12/30: Assist Person N Davis Rd Complainant reports a large party next door and people are

parking on the wrong property. Patrol advised the party to stay

on the correct property to avoid charges.


12/30: Noise Complaint N Davis Rd Complainant states there is a large party nearby that is getting out of hand. Patrol spoke to the party and they were in the

process of dispersing.


12/31: Criminal Mischief N Davis Rd Complainant reports damage to a residence. A police report was completed to document the incident, but the issue is a civil matter

as it was a rental that was rented out for the night.


12/31: Seneca St Vehicle off the Roadway Deputies responded to a vehicle in a ditch. The vehicle swerved to avoid a crash and slid into the ditch. The vehicle was pulled from the snowbank without damage.


12/31: Flood Condition Rice Rd Complainant reports a basement flooding. Fire on the scene to pump out the basement.

12/31: Assist Person Creek Rd Complainant upset that the dump was closed. A sign shows different hours than the website. Numerous cars were sent on their way.


12/31: Shoplifting Clinton St Complainant reports a young male shoplifting from the store. A retired police officer followed the subject in question for a while and was able to provide a valuable description of the person and vehicle. Deputies contacted the subject’s parents and they will have their son make restitution to avoid charges. The store agreed to this.


12/31: Shoplifting Jamison Rd Complainant reports a young male in the store shoplifting, Same subject as earlier shoplifting was described. Patrol contacted the subject’s parents and they will have their son make restitution to avoid charges. The store agreed to this.


12/31: Motorist Broke Down Transit Rd @ Main St Deputies responded to a vehicle broke down in the lane of traffic. AAA en-route to remove the vehicle.


01/01: Notifications Winspear Rd West Seneca PD asked ECSO to make a notification. Deputies located the subject and notification was made.


1/1: Suspicious Vehicle Clinton St @ Girdle Rd Complainant reports a suspicious blue SUV on the shoulder of the road with its four-ways on. The vehicle was gone prior to patrol

arrival. The area was searched with negative results.


01/02: Suspicious Incident N Davis Rd Complainant heard noises coming from her garage. She could see the lights on in her car. Deputies checked the garage and the vehicle with negative results.


01/02: Vehicle off Roadway Transit Rd @ Rte 400 Deputies responded to a vehicle that broke down in a bad spot. Transit towing has the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was notified.


1/3: Assist Person S Ostrander Rd Deputies responded to assist a female. The female was transported to a hospital for further assistance.


1/3: Suspicious Vehicle Buffalo Creek Rd Deputies responded to a moving vehicle on the road with no driver in it. The driver arrived just after patrol. He rented the vehicle to move some items. All is in order. 1/3 Noxious Odor Kalla La Complainant reports a chemical odor in the area. Patrol checked the area and did not detect any foul odors.


1/3: Accident – Injury Rte 400 @ Rice Rd Deputies responded to a vehicle in the trees. The driver was transported to the hospital via AMR. All documents were sent with the passenger. Owner of the vehicle was notified by phone of the accident. Smokey’s towed the vehicle. An accident report was completed.


1/3: Assist Person Hall Rd Complainant reports possible abuse to a female from her son. Complainant asked to meet at the residence to investigate further. Adult protective services completed their interviews with all parties involved. No injuries were reported and patrol assisted APD with their interviews. All parties are allowed to stay in the current situation.


1/4: Fraud Transit Rd Complainant reported a transaction from his bank that he did not authorize. He reported it to his bank and they deemed it a valid transaction. Police report was completed and referred to the detective bureau.

1/4: Suspicious Vehicle Hessland Ct Complainant reports a vehicle is sitting at the end of the driveway. They do not recognize the vehicle. All were reported to be in order.


1/5: Sex Offenses A representative from MACC Center reported having a completed Rape kit ready. The victim left before patrol arrived. Police report was completed and referred to the detective bureau.


1/5: Assist Person Bowen Rd Complainant was seeking advice on how to stop their daughter from talking to someone older.
