Erie County Sheriff's Office Patrol Logs for Grand Island from 2/13 Through 2/19.

2/14:

Unwelcome Guest.

Wallace Dr.

-Deputies were called to a residence for a female who locked the male out of his house. Deputies responded to find a male upset that the female took his truck without permission, returned it, but now won’t leave. Deputies made contact with the female half, who happened to have an outstanding arrest warrant out of Amherst PD. The female was detained and turned over to Amherst PD.


2/15:

Threat Assessment.

Niagara Schools.

-Deputies received a call from CPS in reference to a student of Niagara Falls Schools who lives in Grand Island making a threat to shoot up the school allegedly. Deputies along with the task force detectives interviewed the family and the student over the incident. All parties were satisfied.


2/16:

Welfare Check.

West River Rd.

-Deputies were contacted by a family member worried about their nephew. They haven’t heard from him for a couple of weeks, they believe he was in Rochester recently. Deputies found that the subject was in Strong Hospital for evaluation but was released a couple of days prior. Still trying to check his welfare by sending out a chatter to all departments.


2/17:

Traffic Stop/ DWI.

Burger King.

-Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a silver Ford pulling into Burger King. The driver, Christopher Warner (36), was found to be intoxicated following some sobriety tests. The subject was arrested, processed, and refused the chemical test. Due to the subject residing currently in Ohio and refusing a chemical test he was transported to the ECHC pending arraignment.


2/17:

Unknown Trouble.

Quarry Run.

-Deputies received a 911 call from an unknown female. Deputies made contact with some teenagers at a residence. Apparently, they were trying to get the dog to bite one of the teens as a prank. Parents were advised and will handle the matter.


2/19:

Fire - Structure.

Chateau Motor Lodge.

-Deputies received a call from Grand Island Fire of a possible structure fire. Deputies responded to find smoke coming from room 6. Motor Lodge was evacuated. Witnesses were claiming there were two dogs in the residence still. Unfortunately, one dog did not make it before it was overcome by smoke inhalation. The other dog was rescued and taken to the hospital. Fire investigators responded to investigate.
