*Below is a sampling of the noteworthy incidents in Grand Island.*
**The Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 297 calls the week of this report.**
1/30:
Suspicious Incident.
Beaver Island Park.
-Deputies received a call from an anonymous caller that there was a male naked in the park. Deputies arrived and located a 29-year-old taking a morning ice bath in the river pre-workout. He was advised.
2/1:
UUMV - Recovered.
Second St.
-Deputies were called by the homeowner stating a car was parked in his front lawn. Deputies arrived to find an unoccupied KIA sedan that was reported stolen out of Buffalo. Buffalo PD was contacted and the car was towed for evidence.
2/2:
First Aid – Drug Related.
West River Rd.
-Deputies responded to a call of a 45-year-old female who passed out on the toilet. Deputies found the female unconscious with a pulse along with drug-related materials. Two doses of Narcan were administered and the female eventually became alert. She was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
2/3:
Mental.
East River Rd.
-Deputies received a call from family reporting that their father just hugged them goodbye and went into the woods. They were scared and didn’t know what to do. Deputies found the male in the woods and spoke with him. The male came back to the residence with patrol and was transported to ECMC to speak with someone.
2/5:
Traffic Stop/ Warrant Arrest.
I-190 @ Whitehaven Rd.
-Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a gray Chrysler SUV. After speaking with the driver, he was found to have an outstanding warrant out of North Tonawanda PD. Joseph Magliazzo (44) was detained and turned over to North Tonawanda PD.
