Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard and the Investigative Services Bureau seek the public’s help to identify an individual who stole a log splitter from the equipment supply store.
In the early morning of May 18, an unidentified white male cut a security and alarm cable attached to a log splitter in the lot of Tractor Supply on South Cascade Road in Springville. Tractor Supply surveillance video shows the white male approaching the store on an ATV from the south. The suspect connects the equipment to the vehicle then uses bolt cutters to sever the security cable. The subject left the lot heading westward before he leaves the camera’s view.
The log splitter is a black, 30-ton Countyline.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 716.858.2903 and refer to CL# 21-035004.
NOTE – there are three attached photos from the store’s surveillance system and have been enhanced to improve quality but lack the resolution for additional details. The photo of the equipment is from the manufacturer’s website and is not the actual splitter.
