ECSO Arson Detectives Charge Apartment Complex Resident With Arson.

Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 36-year-old Sara Lilley of Springville following a fire investigation at an apartment complex in the Village of Springville.

On January 23, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to a fire at 109 North Buffalo Street. Multiple volunteer fire companies responded to extinguish the fire, but some apartment structures and many units suffered extensive damage; some were destroyed.

Sheriff’s detectives working the case have been taking witness statements, and on January 24, 2023, detectives arrested Lilley and charged her with a class-B felony of arson-2nd.

The Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Unit is still processing the scene, and detectives are still collecting statements. If anyone has information about the incident, they are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 716.858.2903 and refer to CL# 23-005472.

The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

The Red Cross is providing service to displaced residents.

Sheriff Garcia is sending his thoughts and prayers to the arson victims.
