Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 24-year-old Jose Rivera-Padilla of buffalo on drug-related charges after a short investigation.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, assisted by Buffalo Police’s Intelligence Unit, initiated a traffic stop on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo for vehicle and traffic law violations. During the investigation, deputies discovered approximately nine ounces of cocaine on the passenger side floorboard.
Rivera-Padilla is charged with a class-A felony for criminal possession of a narcotic-8 oz. or more and a class-B felony for criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell. He is also charged with a misdemeanor for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, two vehicle and traffic law violations.
The defendant is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
Rivera-Padilla is currently free on $150,000.00 bail for criminal possession of a loaded weapon charge from July 3, 2022.
