Cheektowaga, NY May 9, 2023 – 26-year-old Justin Cox went to 28 Eggert Road, where he previously resided, to retrieve property. The homeowner would not allow him inside the residence due to violent threats that were made. One of the homeowners had a stay away Order of Protection against Cox that was vacated yesterday in Family Court. Cox called for a police escort to the home but did not wait for the arrival of officers.
Cox started to force his way into the home and a struggle ensued inside the threshold of the home during which Cox suffered a stab wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by CPD and Firefighters Cox was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
All parties involved are cooperating with Detectives during this investigation.
