Car Seat Install/Safety Event This Saturday At The ECSO Alden Substation.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces his office is hosting a free car seat safety check in the parking lot at the Alden Substation

on May 8 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.


Parents and guardians are urged to practice COVID-19 protocols. There will be a limited number of seats checked due to social distancing and added safety measures, so people are encouraged to be patient and check the schedule for other nearby events.

The Sheriff’s Office is implementing safety protocols for COVID-19.


COVID Protocols:

  • The occupants of the vehicle will need to complete a COVID questionnaire before the seat check;

  • All eligible vehicle occupants must wear a mask or face covering;

  • Driver and passengers must remain in the vehicle until called to the inspection station;

  • All attendees must submit to temporal thermometer checks;

  • Drivers and passengers will only exit the vehicle at the car seat inspection station;

  • Everyone must practice social distancing guidelines.
