On Sept 18th @ 04:14hrs, Amherst Fire Control received a 9-1-1 call from a neighbor reporting the side of the house next door at 5505 Thompson Rd was on fire.
A second call from this location’s alarm company reported their subscriber was reporting their house was on fire.
Clarence and Clarence Center Fire we’re dispatched and Chief Ben Hodge of the Clarence Center Fire Co arrived on scene and reported a large amount of fire coming from the house and requested a second alarm assignment.
Flames were already through the roof of the garage as with flames through the roof of the house. Clarence center fire chief ben hodge commanded operations and estimated damage at $1,500,000. Once all fire had been knocked down.
The husband and wife homeowners were able to escape unharmed and reported they were awakened by the smoke, prior to their home alarm system sounding.
The chief also reported that no firefighters suffered any injuries fighting this fire.
The investigation is continuing as to the cause of this fire.
